Hunting & Fishing
Michigan is one of the best states to go
hunting and fishing in! With the most licensed
hunters in the country, it's pretty obvious why
people choose Michigan.
Things You Should Know First...
Before hunting or fishing in Michigan it is first
required that you get officially certified
to do so.
In order to fish...
All that is required to fish in Michigan is a Fisher's
License! They can be purchased at mostly any fishing
or hunting store throughout the state, and are fairly
cheap. Once obtained, you may fish in any designated
public fishing spot. The license itself must be renewed
every year.
In order to hunt...
Huting is a bit more demanding than fishing, due to the
danger involved. Hunters must first have completed a
Hunter's Safety class
beforehand. This outlines key aspects of wild game hunting
in Michigan such as, firearm safety, wildlife conservation,
survival, and first aid.
After a student passes the class, he or she may then purchase
a huting license by presenting a signed certificate of completion
to a certified license vendor.
